Obecure Ltd. (Obecure) announced the completion of its BET209 clinical trial, investigating the potential use of a high Histalean™ dose (144 mg. daily), for the prevention of weight gain associated with anti-psychotic drug treatment.
The double blinded trial enrolled 48 premenopausal healthy women who were randomly assigned to two treatment groups. One group was treated with a combination of olanzapine and HistaleanTM, while the second group was treated with olanzapine alone, for a duration of about 4 weeks.
The Company is currently awaiting completion of the database in preparation for data unblinding and statistical analysis. The Company expects topline results by the end of Q2 2009.
The Company clarifies that this study is being conducted concomitantly with the BET207 clinical study assessing the drug effect in obesity.
